Professor Tony McEnery
Tony McEnery is Distinguished Professor of English Language and Linguistics at Lancaster University, Advisory Professor at Shanghai International Studies University, Changjiang Chair at Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. Tony was previously Director of Research and Interim Chief Executive at the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Director of Research at the UK's Arts and Humanities Research Council, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Lancaster University and Director of the ESRC Centre for Corpus Approaches to Social Science (CASS) at Lancaster. He has published extensively on corpus linguistics.
