TAN Yesheng is now Professor and supervisor for the Ph.D. program in translation studies and linguistic studies at Shanghai International Studies University( SHISU). He works as review editor of Journal of Foreign languages（《外国语》）, a peer-reviewed Chinese journal in linguistics and translation studies. He is also board member of Chinese Cognitive Linguistics Association, and Chinese Cognitive Translation Studies Association.Tan’s major academic interests are Cognitive Translatology, cognitive linguistics, cognitive stylistics and corpus-based translation studies. In recent years he is working on cognitive studies of Chinese folk culture translation rendered by British and American sinologists (broadly defined nowadays in China). He is attempting to do cognitive translation studies based on semantically-tagged corpus data and translators’ thinking portfolios. His publications include over fifty journal papers in linguistics and translations studies. His monographs include: Construal across Languages: A Cognitive Linguistic Approach to Translation.
