Intersection of Corpus Linguistics and Language Testing


03 Scope

This special issue aims to explore the dynamic intersection of corpus linguistics and language testing within the field of humanities. We invite submissions that delve into the practical applications, theoretical insights, and methodological advancements resulting from the synergy between corpus-based approaches and language assessment practices.


04 Operationalization of the Theme

The relationship between corpus linguistics and language testing is operationalized through, but not limited to:


1. Data-Driven Language Analysis: Utilizing corpus data to inform language test development, validation, and evaluation.


2.Learner Performance Analysis: Examining how corpus linguistic tools can enhance the understanding of language learners' performance and proficiency.


3.Assessment Design: Investigating the integration of corpus-based methodologies in creating more effective and reliable language assessments.


4.Language Learning Research: Exploring how corpus linguistic insights contribute to the improvement of language learning strategies and materials.


05 Submission Guidelines

We welcome original research articles, reviews, and case studies that shed light on the innovative applications and implications of the intersection between corpus linguistics and language testing. Submissions should demonstrate a clear link between theoretical frameworks, empirical evidence, and practical implications in this evolving field.


Abstract submission deadline: 30 April, 2024


Abstract review and feedback: 15 May, 2024


Full paper submission deadline: 31 August, 2024
